A Natural Way to a Healthier Skin Tone

Applied after cleansing the face, and before dabbing on moisturizer, toners help to revitalize worn-out skin. Make it a part of your everyday skin care regimen for a clean, refreshing and healthy feel. However, look out for OTC concoctions that may be alcohol-based. They are prone to make the skin dry and cause inflammation, particularly in the case of people with sensitive or pale skin. For some simple and affordable skin tone remedies that don’t cause excessive drying of the skin, check out these homemade skin-toning tips:

  • Aloe. Recognized for its calming effects, this natural ready is a wonderful remedy to heal sunburned or damaged skin by promoting natural skin renewal. It can be purchased from the pharmacy and it comes in tube form. Also, just breaking off a branch of an aloe shrub and extracting the liquid is effective.
  • Lavender. It is not only calming, but this essential oil also is recognized for its antibacterial and antiviral properties. Used to eliminate bacteria and to keep skin fresh and glowing, lavender is terrific as a sunburn remedy.
  • Tea tree, another essential oil, which is popular for its powerful antiseptic, antibiotic, bactericidal, and antiviral qualities, and it helps to make the skin bacteria-free and acts as a deterrent to check eruptions and blemishes.

While the above remedies suit all types of skin, check out a few of these for unique skin problems:

  • For Dry Skin: In case you have dry skin, you need to be very cautious not to increase your distress by unsuspectingly applying on your skin a drying agent. Mint toner, prepared by boiling two handfuls of mint leaves in 100grams water, and extracting the juice, when dabbed with cotton wool on the face, refreshes the skin.
  • For Oily Skin: Prepare a toner by combining egg and honey. Whisk an egg until it becomes frothy, pour in a teaspoon of lemon juice and a teaspoon of honey. Smear on neck and face for ten minutes, rinsing with warm water. Pat it dry gently.
  • For Normal Skin. For this skin type, rose water not just cleans, but also moisturizes and nurtures the skin so as to boost circulation, hydrate it, as well as re-establish natural PH levels.

In addition, cucumber too is an energizing toner. Just slice into half a small cucumber and add ½ cup plain yogurt. Smear on skin for about 10 to 15 minutes, rinsing off with fresh, warm water.
